We did the same with our daughter and son in law. Said here's the amount do with it what you want, elope and it's all yours, spend more and the difference is on you. They spent about half, took a nice honeymoon and pocketed the rest.
Three more daughters to go. Next time I might offer to double it if they'll elope. :-)
