I was just at the local Challenger dealership and to my surprise I see this. I had no idea they were coming out so soon with another new model. This one is a MT 743. I can't find anything on the internet other than it has a CVT. What are the specifics? (Challenger MT 743.jpg) Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Bloomingburg, Ohio | 430 hp, story from my dealer is possibly a Twin CVT, one for right track one for left track, same physical cab as old one with Challenger 1000 interior. All three idler wheels are suspended. Don't know much else buy they look different.

ND | Is there a smaller screen option than the large one in the 1000 series for guys wanting to run 3rd party auto steer?

EC IL | I was hoping they would build that combination of engine and drivetrain in an articulated 4wd frame.

Central Illinois | Got to drive it in Bloomington and watch it on a rough course. Considerable smoother ride than the rt Deere or the old mt 700. Some specs I remember. 350 hp to 430 hp. Cvt ,116 gpm hyd capacity, cab is new fendt 1000 cab not old cab, air ride cab, I was told that day no third party gps. 1700 max engine rpm, also moved hard bar forward and did away with marshmello springs. Went coil over shock system with more travel Edited by tjm71 7/1/2017 19:24

Looks like a Challenger 1000 series on tracks. 1700 rpm is the max rpm on the Challenger 1000's. Pulling a 40 ft row crop cultivator at 6 mph the engine is only turning 1050 - 1100 rpms. "Can run 4 days on a tank of fuel at those low rpm's. Plus the engine should last much longer turning at those low rpm's. I was also running a 80 ft rotary hoe on cotton at 14.5 mph. Engine was turning 1090 rpm's . I am amazed at the performance of the Man engine in the Challenger 1000 series tractors. Dale

Central Illinois | The mt does not use the challenger 1000 engine. It is a reworked 7 cylinder sisu similar to the engine in the current mt

East Central Ia | Took it for a drive the other day and it's pretty neat! I didn't know if they wanted pics out on it yet so I sat on these but here's a few I took. I didn't go over it with anyone that knew details so I can't tell you much. Noticed that, I wonder if that setup will allow more range of motion?

East Central Ia | I didn't drive it very much or over much of a bump to feel it. I mostly drove it to see how the CVT is, and it's really nice! I did drive it over a curb but I didn't want to tear up any grass so I went pretty gently. But both me and my mechanic friend thought that was noticeably smoother. Adding that secondary wishbone suspension instead of the single pivot with rubber bumper is a nice improvement. Also I think replacing that marshmallow spring with a spring coil style adds more travel in the suspension. I do believe the boogie wheels are a larger diameter as well. Southwest MN | QUICK NOTES PER PICS: - Different emission system (exhaust). Appears to match current 700E or the 9.8 SISU. - Cab is different than the 1000 series. Steering column and AC unit layout different. Appears the MT743 is a bigger cab than 1000 series. - Dual CVT? Don’t see that happening as the 1000 series ML400 is good for 536hp through transmission. (The “400 is relative to KW rating. 400kw = 536hp). This is relative to power through transmission / drawbar hp. To put it into perspective it’d take a 9620R to get to 500 drawbar hp. New 800 series with CAT engine and CVT?!?!?! :D :D :D - Appears to be same VOITH fan as in the 1000 series, but different drive motor and housing. Notice how the 1000 series has ~3/4” bars in front of fan for reinforcement while the MT743 has heavier base plate and different access panels. http://www.voith.com/en/press/press-releases-99_71195.html It is a good looking machine - I like the Fendt / Challenger 1000 grill layout. New member. Had a chance to demo a 743 today. Ran it on our field cultivator. It is without a doubt the quietest and smoothest riding piece of machinery both in the field and on the road I have ran. Cab is nice pretty much the same as our c model but more refined no more loud blower fan and can actually shut the door. Controls were a bit complicated at first but caught on rather quickly. Cvt is nice and smooth. I can only compare to a Deere ivt but it’s as smooth. I like the way the Deere ivt operates better with the f1/f2 settings and the roller wheel to set your speed. Fuel use was 18-19 gal/hr. Now the complaints. I mentioned to the gentleman who was helping me with the demo that I was not impressed with the power but wasn’t giving it a fair comparison since I hadn’t been in that field in those conditions on that day. When I got back to the shop I dropped the cultivator in and made a round. This 430hp tractor managed 6.6mph max on our 44ft tiger mate. I immediately unhooked it and hitched the 765c on. It would pull it 6.4mph on 3gal less an hour. Pretty disappointing. Edited by Snyderfarms 11/19/2018 22:31

Go you youtube and watch the videos from MN Millennial Farmer (aka) Zach Johnson Agco/Ziegler gave him one to use this fall he put several hundred hours on it and gives a pretty good break down on likes/dislikes, and yes 3rd party autosteer (at least Deere anyways) is aviable using components from Reichhardt Electronics Edited by Dennis SEND 11/19/2018 22:39
