southern MN | I've never really kept up with the Internet versions of tv these days. sling kinda looks interesting.
It appears you get a Rouku or some such device, get access to sling over a fast enough internet connection, subscribe to Sling, and you have your package of cable stations.
Is this something you can move from location to location? Go traveling, or switch between houses or head up to the lake cabin on weekends - can you take the little device with and as long as you can find a good enough internet connection you can run it wherever you are?
Or do they lock you down to one physical location, one provider, or some such, one subscription one sole location?
(I'm not thinking portable TV while you are in motion, but take with you and set up wherever you are and your subscription gives you the channel package.)
