Subject: Banker In Sioux County

The secret Sioux County sauce is:
1. Diversification by the farmers, hard to find just crop only farmers or livestock only operations.
2. Generally above average farm operators
3. Relatively above average soils, that are supplemented with manure applications at least once a year.
4. Religion may play a part, but more so that kids stay to farm to raise family in the religious environment, instead of moving to Des Moines/Omaha/Sioux Falls metro to work. The dad might buy an 80 or 160 for son or daughter to live on, they put up a couple of confinements or feed cattle on it.
5. Majority of the towns don't just have a COOP, bank, Post Office, bar, convenience store. There are over 15 manufacturing/machining/food processing firms that each employee at least 100. In addition you have two private Christian colleges and a community college in Sioux County.
