Kingston,Mi
We had a Kent dealership for 20 years and ran our markup at 10%. Limited number of customers and they were as good as gold. Never locked the warehouse, they came and went as needed, they filled out carbonless invoices and then we billed them on quickbooks. Our biggest pain in the posterior was, wait for it, horse owners and their need to have a specific feed recommended by a specific horse vet. We never built up enough business to actually support a true single income as intended when we opened up. Nice to have supplement and calf milk right at hand. We found that farmer loyalty to certain feed brands and salesman was tighter than truck brand loyalty. Made money and paid taxes on it every year, so I guess it was worth it for as few actual hours that I put in on a daily or weekly basis.
