Subject: Farming in 2017. Young family. I'm surely not the only one stressed.

30 year old. Father of 2 and 1 more coming. Been building my own branch to my family's farm since college. Ive bought cattle and equipment as I go. LaSt year I took on ground and grew my small 100 acre operation to 450. The new acres like most my ground has sand, ph issues, and poor weed mgmt because mostly of lack of rotation. I've always had a job too since college. I've never used it to subsidize my operation. Wish I owned a house, but I bought depreciable assets instead (idiot!) after college. Maybe I'm being tight, but my operating note is larger than I'd like.

I gave you the cliff notes of my life. Is this common for everyone? Is this the struggle all farmers pass through? The so called "cutting of teeth" we are supposed to go through? Not wanting to have a negative spin on this but maybe it's the time of year where job, wheat harvest, full season planting, double crop planting, and herbicide apps all are happening and we all get bogged down.
