Subject: First attempt at raising cattle dogs

mn
Good friend got a male Australian Shepard which is turning out to be a fairly decent cattle dog. We have a female Border Collie that we get along with very well when using her with cattle. Seeing how the cattle market has been a little hard on the income the last year and a half,we thought we would try diversifying. My friend with the male dog said "My dad always told me the last thing a cattle farmer does before he goes broke is raise dogs". Of course he tells me this after we have our female there to be bred. Hopefully it all turns out good. Marketing these can't be any worse than fat cattle 11 months ago!
