| Vmo - 6/25/2017 20:13 Current model fixed wing aircraft need to be a minimum of 25% of their wingspan above the crop canopy to achieve proper pattern development to avoid streaking. This is a fact based on many years of testing. Go back in time several decades to older aircraft with different physics at play and then one can make a case for getting down low. Late model aircraft flying too low to the crop results in a very poor job of application. Flying close to the crop is in no way an indicator of skill or quality of work.
Yep- just like how people will tell you they can spray with their ground rig in a 20 knot breeze and not drift because they put the boom right down on the ground. Sure, it may not drift but that doesn't mean you are applying product the way your nozzles are meant to achieve a proper consistent pattern. |
