A plane will never be able to do as good a job as a ground rig because of coverage. But some fields are better off sprayed with plane. Big difference in operator for both. I have seen some horrible jobs sprayed from the air. They always say a good pilot doesn't last long because he is trying to fly close to crop and do a good job. Helicopters usually worse. Insecticide different story.
