What's your valve cal? You may be able to adjust the speed digit to help it get to rate a little quicker, as long as you don't change it to the point where it starts oscillating. How high have you had the low limit set? You should be able to set it up to the point where it lets enough flow through where it doesn't drop down the pressure too far, which it sounds like it's doing.
