Subject: Drove to Champaign IL= not impressed

NW Indiana
I consider the Champaign IL area probably the best in the US. This year not so much. Drove down Highway 41 and took 74 across. That is some awesome ground for that stretch. I am not going to call it a disaster but for those acres it is a disaster. Yeah sure there will still be a lot of 180 bushel corn, but far from the yields they would typically expect. Benton county IN is ugly compared to normal. All of the above said and I still think we can pull off a near trend yield with great weather from here on out. The two leaf corn I seen yesterday is going to need some serious heat units.....
