Subject: RE: hot food in the fridge

I now live in the same house that I was raised in. The "old" fridge went bad in about 88'. The "new" fridge is still in the kitchen and is hated by all that use it because it seems like you have to get on your hands and knees to get stuff out of it because of the design. We all want the fridge to die so we can get a new one but 30 years later it is still going strong and we have given no regard to how hot food is when we put it in there!

But seriously I would think putting a case of warm cans of pop or beer or what have you would put more strain on a fridge than hot food. Think of the mass of what needs to be brought down to temp. Liquids would have the most mass and would take the most energy to cool.
