If all your hardware is up to date, then why not put in a ssd? I would put in a 2 TB hdd, probably a wd blue, and a 256gb ssd, probably a crucial mx200, put all your pictures vids and documents on a external drive before you clone, you will find that your hdd will be less than half full with that stuff removed, your pc will be much faster with an ssd. After your done, put you current and all future videos etc on that 2tb drive!

Edit: If your on a budget, you could try using that 500gb in place of that 2tb, you can always clone it to a bigger one in the future, but definitely get a ssd, I've installed lots of 256gb drives and they're always more than sufficient for one Operating System, even with lots of programs.
