With ground beef I also add ground pork sausage. 1 pound beef, 1/3 pound pork. As for the A1...just add a little at a time. I'd guess 1/4 cup or less for 1 pound. Add a little and fill a rack. Make it a little stronger for the second rack, etc. Find if you like more or less and play around. It's all guesswork, and you'll find that unless you reallllllly overdo 1 ingredient it's pretty forgiving.

I've done several where I've started with a Nesco seasoning pack and added garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, meat magic, pork magic, hot sauce, few splashes of soy sauce, white pepper, regular pepper, old bay, creole seasoning, and probably a couple other things I can't think of without digging through the spices.

Pretty much anything works, you really can't mess it up unless you put something exceptionally weird in it. That's why I start with the seasoning pack. At least I know I'll have a decent flavor as a base.
