Even with a collar the corrections will NOT be the same. Everyones timing when they correct will be different. Some will push the button faster than others which will lead to incorrect info passed to the dog. Some will correct for one thing others will correct for something else. Doubt a collar is the answer.

I would lean more toward teaching the pup from day 1 what is expected. Teach him the behaviors you deem correct for him when he is 80 lbs start when he is 12 lbs. Positive reinforcement for good stuff, correct when he is wrong with a voice correction or shake can. Boxers in general are dogs that use their paws and mouth quite a bit. From day 1 correct for mouth and paws on inappropriate things. If you are not going to want him jumping on people when he is big then no paws on people when he is cute and small. No paws on your legs, on lap. - Teach him to sit before feeding, before going outside. Teach him crate manners and how to walk nicely on a leash. Teach him to come Every time he is asked.
TEACH HIM RESPECT. Say what you mean Mean what you say.
Give him time, attention and activity suited for a large growing dog
Training needs to be consistent and fair - way more important than a training collar

Many people think a training collar is the answer to making things easy. There is no short cut for training dogs, horses, kids...have to put the Time and Commitment in. Left alone they will get into trouble give them good things to do they will develop good habits

I have used a training collar - to reach out, way out and correct for life threatening behaviors - chasing horses, climbing fences ect. Dogs are smart enough to learn to be sneaky if they are realize a person is correcting them they will wait to do the behavior when alone unless you give them a good alternative for their time and energy.

Thank you. You were able to articulate this in a much nicer way than I might have.
