NW Central Ohio
...kind of amazing, the things you didn't know you had around. Over 50 years old...been in Boy Scouts, Conservation classes, and never saw a wild gooseberry on the farm. Kind of like the paw paw trees I found in the woods several years ago. Didn't know they existed this far north. One of the funniest things I've seen is when I walked our woods with a state forester...and a tree stopped him in his tracks. He looked at it and said "That's the biggest Quaking Aspen I think I've ever seen!". I said "Are you serious?"....He said he'd never seen a quaking aspen 75 foot tall. I've been going to enter it in Ohio's "Big Tree" list....but haven't got around to it yet. He had called it in to some other people at the Natural Resources Division....and they said they didn't even have any entries for that kind of tree!!!!
