Subject: A little better explanation

Statesville, NC
Basically, first gear high range (the one you are not supposed to use) ratio is almost exactly halfway between 4th and 5th low. So I'll call it 4.5 gear. I can either go 3-4-5-6; or 3-4.5-6. I have the choice. Either way it's even steps. To poster 1973: I can still start in 1st or 2nd and follow this pattern, it just makes wider steps and eliminates one shift going up through the gears.
