GPA x MPH x W /5940 = GALLONS PER MINUTE (flow rate of nozzles)
Take the rate per acre you want to apply (GPA) * speed (mph)* width in inches (W) / 5940 (constant number). This gives you Gallons Per Minute for each nozzle. once you have GPM, you can put monitor in test speed or calibration mode and enter the speed you want to run. This will make the machine think you are moving and allow it to spray, Load your sprayer with some water and go do a catch test to see what you are actually putting out. if you are off, here is the formula to change your flow meter calibration number,
Use the following formula to adjust an existing flow meter calibration number when total amount applied and total amount accumulated by the display are known: Total Accumulated = Amount on the Display Total Applied = Amount Actually Applied - Increase if not enough product is actually being applied
- Decrease if too much product is actually being applied
Example: The original flow meter calibration number is 72 pls/gal. The display total applied reads 900 gallons and actual applied was 1000 gallons. 900/1000 = 0.9 * 72 = 64.8 pls/gal is the new cal number. |
