The Internet

Next model or not, it's obviously a working prototype and if Deere are working on that amount of capacity, we can probably assume that Claas and NH have something in the pipeline.

Buuuuut how much more capacity do we need and can we actually efficiently use? Bigger machines normally replace multiple smaller versions, so who is running Claas 780's/sized machines and thinking or replacing 2 with one or 3 with 2?

We must be getting near the point where, even in the US where your fields are big, of diminishing returns with the physical size of machines. What is the ultimate machine size? Do people want to put the machine into work at one end of the field, turn around to come back and have the field complete?

I would have thought that there are more gains to be had in automation, taking load off the operator and making the most of what we currently have rather than making machines that have pretty much doubled in capacity in 20 years any bigger. Or am I wrong?
