Bancroft IA | Not certain if I think this was an investment for their ag division or a buyout to eliminate competition. Their E-Steer has been used by Ag Leader for some time as an OnTrac,and a few years ago, Case/New HOLLAND started using it was Intellisteer Light/ Electrasteer and you didn't use a Trimble receiver necessarily, you could actually use TerraStar with it. In looking at their other autosteer products, the ECU and hydraulic valve are also a dead replica from what we get from AgLeader so they were either providing it to AgLeader or they shared a supplier - not sure here. I think Trimble is more trying to tighten their grip as they were no doubt losing some to AgLeader since they now came with a viable competitive alternative to Trimble's Autopilot which they admittedly lacked for a few years after the AgLeader/Trimble divorce. When you have pockets as deep as Trimble, you often just buy out competition, not beat them. | |
