Subject: Who keeps a rain log?

Houston County, GA
I just recently installed rain gauges at each of my irrigation wells in the pecan orchards. Going to try my hardest to get timely measurements and irrigate accordingly. Tree crops at kernel fill are much different than row crops I'd like to think. If you get .5" or 1-2" of rain, how long do you wait to cut on the pivots or drip on your fields, no matter the crop? One inch of rain is 27,143 gallons spread out over an acre, correct?
