NEMO | Looks like several people on here are pursuing cow/calf in confinement barns or lots. Not to interested in that path, but what about supplementing pastures to increase cow/calf carrying capacity? What would you recommend or suggest to feed every day? Every other day? Creep feeder for cows and calves?
Local feed stuffs available to purchase: Ethanol byproducts - syrup, wet cake, and ddgs. Soybean hull pellets.
Feed products on hand: Corn. Old vomitoxin wheat. Large round straw bales and warm season grass hay bales(poor quality -about like straw). Should have some first cutting alfalfa soon and possible wheatlage(wouldn't be available for awhile).
Creep feeder? Lick tank? Or do a TMR mix and deliver with feed truck 2 or 3 times a week? Sell the cows?
