Subject: Oats for a cover crop

east central IA
I want to hear the good, bad, and the ugly about using oats for a cover crop. I live in east central Iowa about 35 miles north of Cedar Rapids. I plant some 1.4 soybeans to get harvest started a little earlier. I would have my oats spread with my P&K as soon as the soybeans are harvested (Sept. 20) then run over and incorporate the mix with a Great Plains Turbo Max. Is it worth my time and effort? I have seen to many issues with terminating rye that I want no part of that in my area.
