Eastern Shore of MD | We just are battling that now for the first time, unfortunately. We always had SUPER clean wheat but this year following watermelons we have lots of volunteer cereal rye. What a mess. We also have prior CRP ground with bad rye grass. We rouged ours for about three days. With the watermelons, they burn down the rye strips between the rows but the drive rows have about 3" that neither got mowed or sprayed so I will pay more attention this year on this farm to try and curb this problem now.
I have heard fall paraquat will take out rye for future years; is this true? | |
