Amherst WI | What are most guys doing with their burn downs?
"Here" I try to get it to hitch a ride with the preemerge chemicals right after I plant. With the way the weather is this year it has not been pleasant trying to get spraying done. It's either wet or 20mph winds, or both. I'm usually corn planter pilot, chief mechanic, soybean treater and I work off farm too while this spraying is supposed to happen.
I do grow some conventional corn (where weed pressure is lower) and crabgrass and proso millet are both weeds that are hard to get with post emerge products but all the beans are RR2 and RR2X.
Just trying to look at next year to see if I should just hire done some glyphosate and 2,4-D done right away in the spring and then I can spray post it from there.
Fall Harvest can get pretty late here so fall spraying can be up in the air and the products we can use are limited. | |
