E. Kansas | These beans were planted May 9. Pioneer 45T74. NOT treated.... Sprayed afterwards with Paraquat and Boundary by local sprayer. Rained hard 30 minutes following. Got .75 out of that rain and then a week of dry and warm and then got another 1.5 late this week with cool temps Friday and Sat.
Everything looked fine 2 days ago, beans were just emerging.
Noticed this evening that where the sprayer pulled into the field, there is a very distinct swath of no beans at all for about 50 foot. So my first thought is there was something in the sprayer that shouldn't have been. The beans came up in this area but then died. My first picture will show this area.
Then noticed the rest of the field looks like the rest of these pictures. To me it almost looks like Pythium, or is it from a chemical? The beans on the very edge that didn't get sprayed and are mixed with weeds look normal to me.
This field has not seen soybeans in over 10 years. Been alfalfa for 8 and corn last year. Corn had Acuron preemerge in early April with Roundup only post. Field was fall sprayed with Dicamba/Metribuzin.
What are your thoughts? (Talk about a way to ruin a nice weeekend...)
