Update.
I did turn line acquisition down far enough the system doesn't disengage very often when acquiring the line. I did have to increase the manual override above the system calculated value.
The steering wheel has to be turn aggressively to get the system to disengage.
Not great, but it works better.
Anyone have thoughts regarding reactive steering kit?
