southern MN | I probably should go the Libre route myself.
I want a good word processor and spread sheet that works and I can understand it. I had that with Office 97. The bells and whistles since then I've never even paid attention to, it is just bloatware.....
When the 'ribbon' showed up I lost any comfort or familiarity with the Windows products. That ribbon thing is anti-intuitive to me. To this day I have to stop being productive and think on what I'm supposed to do to make some feature fall out of that ribbon, it chafes me.
The only reason to be updating to to keep up with file formats and comparability, seems the newer versions keep making slight tweaks to file formats and introduce the very errors that are being discussed here. Beyond that new versions seem to add confusion more than improvements for a casual user?
Everyone is different and has different uses and needs, I'm sure there are some good high power features that keep getting added for power users. In my experience those are not the people I hang around with or me...... ;)
