Trouble is, only the owner knows where to find everything, his children aren't interested in taking it on because Dad is a bit eccentric in his business management, and the whole thing will be gone in 15 years.
Very true. We had one like that locally. Guy was incredible. Two buildings packed full of bearings, hydraulics, motors. But his real talent was as a machinist. He'd work all night if need be to build something to get you going. But, it was a one man show. He died and I figured that was the end of it.
Luckily, another local farmer who is a very good businessman bought it from the kids before they auctioned it all off. He's kept it intact, and hired a couple machinists. Feel really lucky to have it back going in a town of 900 people, 10 miles away vs. going to 'town' 50 miles away and they wouldn't have as much inventory in town anyway. |
