Why add 5'for your next row? Are you planting 30"? Maybe I'm missing something but wouldn't you only want to add 2.5'? If you add 2.5' then you're looking at 20.29'for a planter width. If your planter were true then from row 1 to row 8 you'd have 210" (17.5') then add 2.5' and you'd have a perfect 20' implement width. But it sounds like your planter row units are physically wider by 0.29'. This could definitely be causing the issue from the get go.
