We went to these from the old style and use gooey no bake cookies for bait. On the old style traps, I flattened the holder with pliers and as was said above packed them with bait so they had to work on it, but I'd always catch myself. I'd set them and place them with pliers on the trigger and still trip the darn things. Not an issue with these TomCat ones and we catch more mice with them.
