I like donuts with granulated sugar.  As do a lot of people evidently as there usually aren't any while there are plenty of glazed donuts left and put on the day old rack.

When I do find a box of granulated sugar donuts I buy them and put them in the freezer.  When I take them out they are often bereft of most of their sugar.  I tried sprinkling sugar from the sugar bowl on them but it seems those sugar granules are smaller and it just doesn't seem as good.

Is there a kind of sugar that has bigger granules?  Where do I find it?  Is it available in smaller packages?
