East Central, Nebraska | i have been planting rye and strip tilling either in the fall or early spring and have been happy about how it is working for me. this fall i am going to take my drill and set it up so i leave the future strip unplanted.
i have tried alot of stuff. here are some pictures, this is all the same field. first step was planting rye at harvest, then stripping, then planting, then killing. i killed some in different phases as you will see. hoping to get some answers from my trials this year but they may be hindered by todays snow and now 34 degree ground temps. seemed like a good idea.
