Subject: RE: Striptilling and Cover Crops

Just outside downtown Prairie Hill
We drilled rye on angle last fall. When it cooled enough we ran our NH3 with a Blue Jet 16 row bar. Bar is equipped with rolling baskets. We change the knives out for yetter dual coulters to freshen the strips in the spring. The rye we killed early worked fairly well. The rye that grew for a while covered the strips and our freshener bar did not clear those strips as well as I would have liked. Next year are thinking of planting rye in the pusher units of our Kinze planter. At least that is our current thought.
