Nebraska aka the boondocks
not everybody has months to plant a good crop. we can grow excellent crops here in central Nebraska, but things have to get planted. Early beans yield really well, we will be past the optimum window now. I always figure april 25-,may5 is the sweet spot for us, a lot of crops will be planted later. I will never plant corn after may. the 26-28 we had the other day, will kill plants and thin stands. Now as many know here in central Nebraska pioneer regularly puts out data on whether to replant or not and we all know that thinner stands, and substantially thinner stands will outyield later perfect stands. I more than likely will be pulling a second planter out of the shed next weekend.
