Western OK | Don't really have a whole lot of options besides Milo. We did cut our Milo acres in half though, gonna plant the rest to cotton. We didn't have to spray for aphids last year but they were definitely around. Every now and then while cutting wed come across a sticky patch in the field. Last year was our best Milo yeilds ever, had one patch do almost 100.
Just don't know what else to grow besides Milo, have done sesame, soybeans, and red peas. Sesame comes off to late to grow good wheat behind it and the stocks are worthless for grazing. Soybeans and peas pay good if they yeild, big if. Plus harvesting them is a pain in our terraces. Milo comes off end of August \first of September and if I want to get back to wheat we can, or lay it out and graze stalks. But the price is crap!!!
So you think ur wheat is wrote off then? | |
