I'd argue the weight loss is like 15K missing. I'm not so sure they don't need to be killing this many just to keep up with presales and cash box trade. Idk.
according to my numbers we've killed 7.72 mil head 1st 3 mos of this year compared to 7.18 mil head last yr for a gain of .54 mil (540,000) . Divide that by 12 weeks and that's 45,000 more head each week we're pulling forward. 2015 calf crop was only 400,000 head bigger than 2014. You can slide some 16 calves into the mix by now but maybe they did that last year too. 2016 calf crop is only 800,000 hd bigger than 2015. Both years combined add 1.2 million hd. At this pace we need more than 2 million additional cattle this year
