In a van, down by the river... | It's interesting to watch the dynamics in the global soy trade. Given the size of Brazil's soy crop (now pretty much tucked away), and the increasing potential of a whopper corn crop, simple logic would say they ought to be exporting beans like mad right now. But the fact is they've apparently learned how we weld our bin doors shut right after harvest...and bought a bunch of welders. We continue to sell and export from North America, with good potential to reduce our carryout (depending on what is actually happening with crush). Look at the JULY/NOV inverse slowly re-asserting itself. I've been told the direction of currency will be a big driver in what happens from here with Brazilian beans. |
