You got a mess no matter what. Actually two options come to mind, spring plowing, and a verticle till machine.
I've used both to straighten out some pretty crappy stuff, with the time frame we are in now, I'd have to go with the VT machine.
V-ripping, here anyway, would be a disaster.
Would you V-rip in the spring?
