Tough decison and there is no right answer. Planting anything ahead of a weather system has some challenges. Sometimes worse than others. Right now, our ground is fit and warm, yet, i do have concerns about the weather that is predicted. Yesterday was NOT the last day to plant for 2017 and I think its important to remeber that. Corn and beans grow just fine here in early May. If we dont turn a wheel for two weeks what kind of shape will the crops that are planted going to be in? Its never easy to make these calls. I did plant corn yesterday. I finished the field I was in the night before and planted another 40 acres and called it a day. As I type this we are having a thunderstorm and it is pouring outside. Raining hard enough the satellite TV is not working.

Bottom line, it is really hard to sit and watch planters run but sometimes it is the right thing to do.
