Subject: Corn planted into cold soil

SE ND
Big operator near me put in 2000 acres before the cold rain and soil was only 40 to begin with. Wouldn't surprise me if it's a month till it emerges. Given the forecast and risk, I just don't understand why do it. Maybe it will turn out well for them though. What mortality should one expect? 10-20% loss?
