This is confusing to explain, but I have done it before.

I had to create a blank field and copy the data to that field. That way if I screwed something up it wouldn't be my actual copy.

Then you can go into the selection tool and mark out the portion you want to remove. You can use the rectangle selection or the polygon. You can zoom in and mark out the data you DON'T want.

Then you can delete it by pressing the delete button, or click the red X once it's selected. This removes it. Then you have left the data you want.

Right click on the field you just created and you can copy to the correct field.

You can do this the same way with the other data you want elsewhere.
