Subject: RE: Tips on buying a foreclosed house.

We just bought tye house next door to us in February at a sheriff's sale. We knew they owed $45000 on it. After sale was over found out from the auctioneer that the lady that was bidding against me thought she was bidding against another guy in the back of the hallway, there was some bad blood between them from another sale I guess. Auctioneer said the ladies husband kept telling her to stop bidding but she wouldn't listen. She didn't know me but the husband and sons are local farmers so he knew me. Anyway we got it bought for more than we wanted but at a price we were still comfortable with. Afterwards I asked the lady representing the bank, who actually never did bid, how high the bank would have gone. They bank was only bidding up to $29500 on the house. So if it hadn't been for that "nice old lady"....
