You know, I don't mind the reminder. I've always been told that if you have one good dog in a lifetime, you are fortunate. We have had several and each is different and special in their own way. It is heart wrenching to lose one. I shed tears in December when we put down our 14 year old male Jack Russell but I remember him with appreciation for the time we had.

It was the same with our horse. He was absolutely the most unique horse I've ever been around--a people personality and tons of fun. I was with him as he passed from a twisted intestine. I cried then, too. I miss him and the lives we had when he was with us but more I focus on the enrichment that came out of it for us. If we had him right now, it would be different than it was then.

God is a wonderful provider for us and gives us these gifts as we go along. He will give us others as those fade away.
