The government thinks I need a seat belt in my 8000# truck but I don't need a helmet to ride a motorcycle! Just a case of "uncommon" sense.
It is that way here in KY also!
That's the way it is here too. Who is the most in danger, me not wearing a seat belt or a motorcyclist without a helmet? Or the bicyclist riding his bike on a busy highway. The SB law is all about generating revenue from those most likely to pay. We will never know the true statistics about seat belts saving lives because of the revenue generated by the law. I've got a good friend who is an Arkansas State policeman. According to him seat belts seriously injure about as many as they save. It all depends on what kind of accident and in the case of entering the water a seat belt is almost certain death.
