Eastern Half of Kansas | In most areas most cattle herds have it, my local breeder was trying to source cattle for Russian export, they bought lots of heifers and started testing for Leukosis and blue tongue, all cattle bought tested about 20% on the average. Only free area they found was in northern most Montana where flies were not very bad. This is why fly control mineral and spraying is important. As others have said needle transmission will move it between cattle, my local breeder, changes every needle every injection, goes thousands of needles.
Edit: My breeder said Leukosis shouldn't cause abortion unless cow is getting ready to die, but Anaplasmosis can.
