| I have similar manure sample results this year. This past fall I put enough manure on to what my MMP Plan would allow and I have enough nitrogen from my manure for the 2017 corn crop. I do supplement with commercial P and K to keep up with my removal rates and to keep a good soil sample. I have in the past taken a late spring soil nitrogen test. Which I have been told is a bit hit and miss. In 2016 the sample called that I was short on nitrogen to get me through the season. I put 50# of nitrogen on late season with Y-drops and left a couple check strips. It was a breakeven deal at best. Any yield I gained from the late season nitrogen application only paid for the nitrogen and application. | |
