Death comes to us all. Life's but a walking shadow | Is the black line the average? Just by eye, I would say that the average during the early period is heavily weighed by the one very early year. If you look you see that the majority of the lines during the early period are below the average. If you take that one outlier out of the data set, I suspect you'll see the average fit the data better.
It would be interesting to plot just those lines that cross over the average. Either by having a good start go bad or a bad start turn good. |
