I really comes down to looking at the gross profit of the farm vs. the overhead needed to farm the field. At the end of the day it's yield + the impact of the field on your equipment line up.
A lot of land decisions make sense if you can efficiently farm with with no additional equipment. But a producer needs to be honest with their evaluation of the term efficiently.
