Subject: Wagon painting 101

Have 2 DMI 300 center dumps I want to paint this summer. Both have most paint on them, one worse than other. I want to spray a single stage paint so what to use besides the crappy majic paint from TSC? I was planning in using a palm sander on the flat spots then sand blasting what I can't get with the sander. Should I prime the whole thing or just where the rust/bare spots are? I had good luck painting the fertilizer spreader that way and the paint didn't peel. Also should I bother painting the inside? They empty out good so wasn't planning on putting graphite paint on the slopes. Sorry for all the questions just want to do it right since its a lot of work. Thanks.
